The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet by Thalassa Chapter 1295

Chapter 1295

Sitting at the edge of the bed, Lucy gave Susan a warm smile as she peeled an apple. “Susan, you’re practically a heroine for saving Mr. Sinclair. A few scratches? Totally worth

it.”

Bruce chimed in from across the room, his voice filled with admiration. “Absolutely, Susan. After this, Mr. Sinclair is definitely gonna see you in a new light.”

Thalassa froze just outside the door, her body shaking with anger at the sound of their

voices.

The last thing she wanted was to see their smug faces.

Especially Bruce – he was the one who had ruined her mother, leaving her in an emotional

wreck.

She wished she could kill him.

Pretending to be all warm and fuzzy with Susan’s family was something Thalassa just

couldn’t stomach.

Ethan noticed Thalassa’s fury and stopped beside her. He could see her clenching her jaw, her cheeks trembling with rage.

He was well aware of the bad blood between Thalassa and Bruce’s family. Gently placing a hand on her shoulder, he whispered, “Those who aim to achieve great things must endure sometimes. Do it for your children, Thalassa.”

Thalassa’s tense body gradually relaxed as she took Ethan’s words to heart. She took a deep breath, then let it out slowly, trying to calm the storm within.

Once she felt composed enough, she walked into the room with Ethan by her side.

Susan was sitting up in bed, engrossed in a mobile game, while Lucy sat beside her, feeding her the peeled apple. Bruce was busy pouring hot drink.

As Thalassa and Ethan entered, no one looked up.

“Susan, how are you feeling? Any better?” Ethan asked, his professional smile as a CEO practiced and polite.

Lucy turned at the sound of their voices. Her first instinct was to hurl insults at Thalassa, but the sight of Ethan made her swallow her venom.

Forcing a grin, she buttered up to Ethan. “Mr. Ethan, what brings you to visit Susan? Are these flowers for Susan? That’s so nice of you

Lucy took the bouquet eagerly, bending over backwards in her enthusiasm. She sniffed the flowers before showing them to Susan. “Look, it’s from Mr. Ethan. He’s brought you these.”

Dropping her phone, Susan clutched the bouquet to her chest, her eyes softening coyly as she looked up at Ethan. “Mr. Ethan, you’re the most considerate man I’ve ever met. Even visiting a patient, you bring flowers.”

“You’ve got it wrong. These aren’t from me; they’re from Thalassa,” Ethan corrected her.

Lucy and Susan’s smiles froze on their faces, their gazes shifting to Thalassa, filled with resistance and hostility.

Standing amid the crowded ward, Thalassa remained silent, trembling with loathing for Susan and her family.

–

Now knowing the flowers were from her nemesis, Susan felt as if she were holding a heated coal. She was caught between a rock and a hard place – to discard the flowers would be rude, yet keeping them was unbearable.

“What’s Thalassa doing sending me flowers? She nearly killed Mr. Sinclair, while I got hurt trying to save him. I’ve ruined her plans. She should hate me, not send me flowers,” Susan scoffed, placing the bouquet aside with disdain.

If Ethan weren’t there, she’d have thrown them on the floor without a second thought.

—

This was the rumor Susan had been spreading for the whole week – that Thalassa had tried to kill Lysander.

Ethan stepped in to clear the air for Thalassa. It’s all a misunderstanding. It was an accident. She’s here to express gratitude on Lysander’s behalf to you. Isn’t that right, Thalassa?”

Ethan nudged Thalassa gently, urging her to speak.

Since she was there, she might as well clear her name.
