Chapter 1305
Zephyr’s voice was firm, unwavering as he shot down Lysander’s attempts at defense. “She’s manipulating the whole situation, using her mother to strong-arm you into marrying her. Wants to be Mrs. Sinclair so she can lord it over everyone, look down her nose at the whole world. She’s dangerous, Lysander, can’t you see that?”
“But Grandpa…” Lysander tried to cut in, a plea in his voice.
Zephyr waved him off, refusing to let him continue.
He knew Lysander was about to make excuses for Thalassa again. To Zephyr, it was clear as day that the boy was under her spell.
He couldn’t see the truth, wouldn’t believe that Thalassa was the ambitious, ruthless type.
Just like Barnett couldn’t see that Belinda was going to betray him until it was too late.
And in the end, the bitter truth was right there. Belinda didn’t just betray Barnett, she was even ready to elope with another man. Barnett, in his desperation to keep her, lost everything, even his life.
Lysander’s father had already been claimed by a woman like that. And now, Lysander was tangled with another.
Zephyr would not stand idly by and watch his grandson fall deeper into such mess.
With Leopold gone, Lysander was the last hope for the Sinclair legacy.
The agony of burying his own children was a pain Zephyr had endured twice. He could not
bear it a third time.
“You know better than anyone why Leopold died. And yet, you still want to make exc for Thalassa? That she’s not a siren leading men to their doom?” Zephyr’s gaze sharpened, his eyes like those of a hawk, piercing Lysander’s resolve.
There was no room for debate, no more time for Lysander to discern Thalassa’s true nature-the facts were already laid bare.
Lysander, usually so composed, now had his brows knit together, his presence heavy wi unspoken thoughts.
Zephyr pressed on. “She was cold-hearted enough to use an ‘accident’ to try to murder you. Can
you really not let go of such a viper? Lysander, you’ve always been sharp and astute. How can you be so blinded by this woman?”
Zephyr’s heart raced with frustration, watching helplessly as Lysander succumbed to Thalassa’s allure.
“And look at what happened to Leopold, all because of that woman. My poor son…” Amelia entered, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Chapter 1305
For five years, Leopold had never forgotten Thalassa. Because of her, he was no longer the cheerful, sunny boy he once was. He had become somber and extreme.
So extreme that he jumped to his death.
At the thought of Leopold’s tragic end, Amelia’s heart was filled with pain and suffocation. “Don’t cry, Amelia. You and Payton are still young. You might have another child,” Zephyr offered a weathered consolation.
He understood her grief. The loss of a son was a mother’s worst nightmare.
“How can I even think of having another child? I’m terrified it’ll end up like Leopold. I can’t go through that pain again,” Amelia sobbed, her body shaking with each cry.
“It won’t happen again. Just keep a closer eye on him this time,” Zephyr soothed.
“Just like I keep an eye on Lysander,” he said, turning his gaze back to Lysander. His voice left no room for argument. “Tomorrow, you’ll meet Joshua’s daughter. Joshua and I go way back, and you owe a lot to him for looking after you while you were abroad. The Sinclair and Whitman families have always been close. Marrying Joshua’s daughter would be the best outcome for everyone.”
